Barcaldine Solar Farm is feeding electricity into the grid – two months ahead of schedule

Queensland’s largest solar power plant to date, with the potential to produce enough renewable energy to power around 9,800 households, the Barcaldine Remote Community Solar Farm.

It was developed and constructed by Elecnor Australia and its subsidiary Green Light Contractors, with $22.8 million in funding from ARENA and $20 million debt finance from the CEFC.

Elecnor has developed its own unique style of designing and constructing large-scale photovoltaic installations. In Australia, this is the second solar farm delivered after 70MW Moree Solar Farm, bringing the company into the top rank of the solar sector with a sustainable and promising future.

Elecnor is a global firm with a history spanning 60 years and presence in more than 50 countries. A Group, in short, whose technical and financial solvency enable it to promote, develop and construct all manner of infrastructures on all five continents.
